The Public Education System in the United States is broken.  Whenever a program or course is found to stimulate the passion and creativity of the students it is ground out of existence.  Instead of expanding courses like Physical Education, Music, Art, United States History, Wood, Metal, and Auto Shop they are reduced or removed.  These areas are where our children learn how to problem solve.  This should be the real goal of our schools, PROBLEM SOLVING.

The current school system is focused on cultural teaching.  And not necessarily on the American culture.  It is an indoctrination into a one world culture system where everyone else is OK and as Americans, we should not only accept, but embrace other cultures above our own.  Recently in San Diego, CA the schools started a Muslim integration program for the Elementary Schools.  The program included the use of prayer mats and bowing to Mecca. This is the same California who enforces the complete separation of Christianity from the school system.  As I see it, there is no place for ANY religion in our schools.  Not equal time, no time.  This time could have been spent in many other ways.

Not everyone is going to go to college.  Not everyone wants to go to college.  Not everyone should go to college.  Why is college the only path taught to our children?  I have been a tradesman for over 20 years.  I have gone from helper to upper management during this time and have had a very rewarding career.  I have had the opportunity to help develop hundreds of young people into professionals.  Professional tradespeople.  The majority of these people did not have to spend a single dollar on their trade education.  They were able to get paid an ever-increasing wage while they learned each level of their chosen profession and at the end many are earning six-figure incomes.

Those earning six-figures usually got to that point within six years of starting.  So instead of college for 4 years, they were getting paid to learn their trade.  Instead of being starting at the bottom, the tradespeople are Journeyman level in 4 years.  The trades have been losing qualified people for years.  Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, roofing, etc. are all in need of a new generation.  But nothing is being done in the schools.

Real world classes need to be brought back into our schools.  Not only shop type classes, but home economics needs to be revived as well.  Students need to know how to open a checking account, apply for a credit card, purchase a vehicle, understand what a credit score is, as well as budget for monthly expenses, and plan for their future.  These are the social and cultural issues our children should be taught.  In addition, grades should be given and those who excel should be celebrated.

Discipline needs to be brought back into our schools.  When violent attacks on teachers, bus drivers, and other students are normal videos, we have a serious problem.  Students have a responsibility to be attentive and behave rationally in a group setting.  There is no excuse for the types of behavior issues in our schools today.  Those students who are not able to control their own behavior should be removed from school.  It is the parents job to ensure their children can behave properly.  All students should be held to a high standard of behavior and be treated equally.

It is time to stop pushing political agendas in the school environment.  Religion and morals should be taught in the home and church of choice of the family.
